Thank you for coming to stay at Brender Canyon Farm. As the new owners we are gratful that you chose to stay here while visiting the Cashmere area. 

 

In 2007 we purchased this old late 1800's homestead in Cashmere WA. The current farmhouse was built in 1908 and is infamous in the valley as the Brender Canyon Farm. Utilizing about 1.25 acres of the 20-acre former pear orchards, grapes were planted as an experiment, in 2011 our first crop of Sangiovese, Syrah and Merlot grapes were harvested--took them to Patterson Cellars in Woodinville, WA to be made into delicious wine. John Patterson did an amazing job and we were proud to present the Premier Realease of the Red Field Blend in the last year from those young vines. The 3-ton 2012 harvest has been bottled and and we have since released our 2012 vintage with four varietals.  The grapes continue to produce delicious wines that keep getting better year after year.

 

As a bit of background, we owned SZMANIA'S Restaurant in Seattle (Magnolia neighborhood) for 24 years. Raised our four children while diligently working seven days a week and creating a great reputation, fulfilling a life-long dream for a born and bred German Chef. As we neared the end of our 25 years lease, it became apparent that it was time to envision the next chapter in our lives. 

 

Please let us know if there is anything you need while here, if we can be a resource for local information on activities or sites to see. Chelan County has much to offer. There's a bounty of fruit coming out of this valley, the rivers are amazing and the weather is gorgeous.
