SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS & GENERAL ROOM INFORMATION
Main floor: 1 Queen Bedroom with private bath that includes a shower (sleeps 2 and best for folks who cannot climb stairs well)
Two additional full bathrooms are on the main floor – one at bottom of stairs and one in laundry room, both with full size tubs and showers.
2nd floor: 4 bedrooms (sleeps up to 10):
1 King bed (yellow room)
1 Queen bed (blue room)
1 Queen bed (peach room)
1 Full Bed & 2 twin beds (bunk bed) (green room)
1 bathroom with a shower
3rd floor Family room: 1 full-sized Hideabed, 1 twin bed & 2 twin antique “Pioneer” beds (slightly narrower than a regular twin, meant for kids), plus two large couches & extra floor cushions that could be used for kids for sleeping (sleeps 4 + floor mats & couches). The stairs to the 3rd floor are a bit narrower than the stairway to the 2nd floor, but easily accessible for all ages.
Sleeping Porch - Twin bed (SUMMER ONLY)
Living Room with stone fireplace and TV ready for DVD’s and movies; Fully-stocked kitchen with all appliances including microwave and dishwasher. Music player, toaster, coffee maker, blender, crock pot, pots, pans, all china, glass and silverware, spices and the basics.
“Mud Room” - aka laundry room with washer and dryer, tools, backdoor to patio, extra supplies and a full bath that’s great for coming in wet or dirty. Makes great storage area for extra shoes, boots, coats, & outdoor folding chairs.
3rd floor Game Room: ping pong table, stereo, large screen TV for video games and movies; much room for sleeping bags and kids to use. Also a board game table, reading area, and extra sleeping room for families who want to bring sleeping bags. There is a full sized hide-a-bed there too.
Outdoor firepit for BBQ’s, evening s’mores, ghost stories, and campfire songs.
Large front deck for relaxing, reading, having snacks, breakfast coffee, and great for warm days watching the hummingbirds.
SO MUCH TO DO!
Besides relaxing, you can hike up the hills, ride mountain bikes through the canyons. There’s a beautiful hike up behind the farm house to the top of the ridge. Take your camera as you can see completely down the valley into Cashmere. Take water and leave the dogs behind in heat.
The Pioneer Museum – very interesting with many outdoor replicas; located on Cottage Way:
Leavenworth site-seeing, shopping, dining, mini-golf, swimming is only 20 minutes away:
Wine Tasting at the many wineries located nearby (but check during off-season times for revised tasting room hours)—Icicle Ridge Winery and Wedge Mountain in Peshastin, Silvara behind Smallwood Farm near Peshastin, Crayelle & Waterville Wineries have tasting rooms in Cashmere. There are lots of tasting rooms in Leavenworth—we recommend Kestrel, Icicle Ridge and Boudreaux. We’ve left brochures & maps in the roll top desk drawers.
Aplets & Cotlets Candy Store tours- free samples in downtown Cashmere.
Cashmere Cider Mill – it’s a short drive by following the signs off Pioneer Rd. past the high school. Free samples and small snack bar. Cute rustic grounds. Weekends only in winter.
Cashmere City Pool (summer) & Tennis Courts off Sunset Road ( from Cotlet’s Way thru town heading toward Pioneer Way, take a right after the railroad tracks and follow the signs for a few blocks).
Chelan Co. Fairgrounds hosts a number of events during the year including a summer Wenatchee River Bluegrass Festival (3rd weekend in June), county fair in September (weekend after Labor Day) and some sporting events and rodeos.
Skiing at Mission Ridge in the winter—about 15 minutes south of Wenatchee. Stevens Pass is about 45 minutes away going west past Leavenworth.
Wenatchee area also offers Lincoln Rock State Park, Confluence State Park, Columbia River, Lake Entiat, Rocky Reach Dam tours, golf courses, many restaurants and large stores. We are about 45 minutes from Lake Chelan.
Antique Malls – Apple Annies and Cashmere Antique Mall are wonderful, interesting places to browse for hours. There’s a restaurant and espresso bar in each of them.
DINING in Cashmere
Besides the many restaurants in Leavenworth & Wenatchee, Cashmere offers several choices for a small town.
Anjou Bakery – about 1 mile east on Hwy 2 towards Wenatchee. World famous fruit & nut crackers, baguette sandwiches, pies, cinnamon rolls made from croissant dough and pastries. Bread styles vary daily but are incredible! Closed Tue-Wed. Sure to Rise Bakery on main street in Cashmere; (good cookies, cinnamon rolls, breads)
Brian’s Pizza – with 4 bowling lanes and games/billiards in the back. Fun for the kids. It’s where all the local high school teams meet and celebrate after games.
Milepost 111 – new in Cashmere with casual food. Lots of TVs to watch sporting events. Great beer list.
Weed’s Deli – on Cottage St. in town
Devil’s Gulch Drinkery – cute little “drinkery” over 21 only in the renovated Cashmere Public building a block down from the Aplets & Cotlets factory. Lots of cute stores in that facility.
Casa Grande – Mexican restaurant that’s pretty good, on the main street (Cottage St.) in town.
Rusty’s Burgers – at the Cotlet’s exit off Hwy 2 - famous for stopping on the way to Chelan. Milkshakes!
Country Boys BBQ on Aplets Way close to the Wenatchee River.
Blue Flame Asian Bistro – regular Asian food, economically priced, good for to-go orders too.
The Hitching Post is across Hwy 2 at the Goodwin exit—over 21 only tavern, Burgers & Bar food
The Hideaway – Cashmere’s only “fine dining” restaurant on Cottage St. Nice food, inconsistent service.
The ‘59er Diner – next to Apple Annie’s. Mimics old-style soda fountain restaurant.
Leavenworth Restaurants
Andreas Keller (509) 548-6000 – We had a fun experience here and the food was pretty good compared to other German fare in Leavenworth. Plus it’s a cute atmosphere and live accordion music
Café Mozart (509) 548-0600 – More romantic, formal and probably slightly better food but quiet atmosphere than most.
Both are at 829 Front Street (1 upstairs, 1 downstairs) You can see the menu for Mozart on their own website.
Munchen Haus is more like a gastropub and it’s fun to sit outside in the summer. Food is regular German fare.
South –good Mexican cuisine. They also have one at the Pybus Public Market in Wenatchee.
Best nicer Wenatchee restaurants we’ve found so far are Visconti’s, Pybus Bistro, Garlini’s & McGlinn’s Public House. Also Fire & Ice or South at the Pybus Market are good choices.
SHOPPING in Cashmere
Martin’s Market: the closest and best supermarket is across from Apple Annie’s on this side of Hwy 2, right past Rusty’s on the east side of Cashmere. There are a couple of mini-marts – one on Pioneer Rd about 2 miles east from the farm, another on Sunset Hwy near the Goodwin Rd. exit and one in town on Aplet’s Way.
Apple Annie’s Antique Store, Cashmere Antique Mall, and a few more around that area—some of the largest antique malls in the country and very fun to roam.
Doane’s Cashmere Valley Pharmacy (with an infamous old fashioned soda fountain counter inside) is also a very nice gift store Clifford’s Hardware on Cottage St. carries much of what we need – even inner tubes to float the river.
Sports & Fitness Outlet (in the Home Depot parking lot Wenatchee) has great prices and used sports stuff … we like to get good buys there with everything from baseballs, water sports & snowboard gear.
Hooked on Toys has everything for the sportsman with fishing, hunting, camping, innertubes, floats, etc. Great fun to go there however for toys for all ages in general. It’s on the main Wenatchee Ave. about 6 blocks past Home Depot (next to Leonard Evans Cars…you can’t see the building from the street, just the big sign on the right side).
Wenatchee has everything from Pier One to Old Navy, Target, J.C. Penney, Home Depot, Costco, Wal-Mart and Albertsons…most on the main street heading into old town Wenatchee. Old Wenatchee downtown has some nice parks and a museum, theaters and good shopping on Mission & Wenatchee streets. Miller Ave. as well as East Wenatchee (Macy’s Mall) has many newer mall type stores.
East Wenatchee has some of the bigger stores like Costco, Fred Meyers, Macys and a few malls, plus more golf and activities. Just drive south through Wenatchee about 3-4 miles and go left across the big bridge (follow the signs on Miller St.)
